Meet Susie 
Susie Matson of Savvy Spaces began her business in  July 2005. As an organizer, she is certified
Some ask, “how did you become an organizer?" To that, Susie answers, "professional organizing found me. Anyone can organize -- it’s a learned skill. There are many products and resources available to help us all become better organized. But there is so much more to it than storage systems and the like. For me, being organized started as a coping skill then a way of life. It helps me maintain a sense of peace and harmony in our home. If we have harmony at home, it extends into the rest of our lives. Helping others become organized, and to achieve a more hormonious home, is something altogether different. That is my passion because so many of us live fragmented and stressful lives. We all have gifts. It has taken me awhile to find mine, but I have. It is to help others create more satisfying lives by improving the flow and feel of their homes."
For years Susie has helped family and friends recreate their homes, always looking for opportunities to do more than just putting things in order. After twelve years as a stay at home Mom and another 12 years working in the public school system, Susie took to heart the encouragement her husband, family, and friends had given her and set out to do what comes to her naturally, to organize and re-design with the soul of the home as a guide.
Susie also enjoys incorporating an artistic element in her organizing and redesign work. Among her many interests are basket weaving, upholstery, furniture refinishing, caning, sewing, watercolor, beading, reading, and gardening. Her unique talent is working with the “treasures” that clients already have in their homes to transform rooms into more creative, organized and functional spaces.

You know, being organized is not just a conscious decision like, "Oh, I think I'll be organized, I'll start tomorrow... As you know, it is either an intrinsic, inherited, or acquired, WHATEVER value that one has developed (or never does develop). I think it takes being hit over the head by one's own inefficiency...and being so tripped up by things, believe me, this past year has been the BIG CLOBBER with the MALLET, in awareness. We are definitely receptive, learning and giving ourselves permission to get it together. I think one of the really valuable aspects of hiring a professional is that it gets it out there in the forefront, is agreed upon by the couple, as this is crucial, we need this, this is the day the organizer is coming, this is what we are committing to do to change, these are the rules we need to follow.
I am still sending you love and gratitude for your help and your skill, not only in helping us organize, but being so skilled in not being too wordy and "losing" us in the instruction, and being so on the same page that you can tell us some organizing ideas and know what will work best for us. I absolutely love going into my closet each morning; even though I don't have new clothes - it reminds me of a clothing store because of the way you arranged and labeled like things. I also enjoy going into the laundry room again, it is fun looking in the cupboard and drawers and seeing everything organized. The attic and pantry are usable spaces again too, thanks to Savvy Spaces. You have been such a blessing in our lives; I used to be so overwhelmed each day with the disorganization, but now I actually look forward to the day and try to think of other ways to simplify our lives thanks to SAVVY SPACES.
